Background:

Dr. Zhang spends two months/year at USC participating in several extramural funded research projects in imaging system design and implementation, DICOM Standard, and data security and monitoring since 1998. Dr. Zhang was research Fellow at UCSF from 1994 -1998, Dr. Zhang is currently the Director of Laboratory for Medical Image Informatics (LMII) and Professor at the Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics (SITP), The Chinese Academy of Sciences, and has mentored 16 M.S. and Ph.D. students. Dr Zhang was elected as one of the 100 most promising young scientists of China by the Chinese Academy of Science in 1999.

Research Interests:

PACS, medical imaging system monitoring, image processing, DICOM and HL 7 standards, PACS-based Radiation Therapy server.
