Background:
Yu
Zhang is a fourth year student at Georgia Tech majoring in Biomedical
Engineering with concentrations in Cell & Tissue Engineering
and Medical Imaging. As an undergraduate research assistant in Prof.
Y. Wang's tissue engineering laboratory at Georgia Tech, Yu worked
with poly(glycerol-sebacate) scaffolds for the Tissue Engineered
Small Artery (TESA) project. Her past independant research projects
also include "Novel Range of Motion Transducer Useful in Rehabilitation
Therapy" and "Effect of Post-Exercise Ethanol Consumption
on Glycogen Storage in Skeletal Muscle Tissue." She is a GT
Dean's List scholar, Georgia Hope Scholarship recipient, and a Georgia
Tech President's Undergraduate Research Award (PURA) winner. She
joined the IPI lab as a summer research intern in June 2006 as part
of the USC Viterbi Internship Program.
Current Projects:
Location Tracking and Verification System (LTVS) for application in a clinical setting.
